Preliminary program of the expedition

Day 1
Very early departure from Prague, around 5 am, around Jihlava, Brno and Vienna until Spital am Semmering. From here we go to get the skipass and take the cable car to Alois-Günther Haus (1782 m). We will accomodate in the hut and than go skiing. Attention! When traveling by cable car, a short cross-country skiing is necessary, so you have to pack your bag so that you can ski with it! In the evening we will be taking pictures directly at the top of Stuhleck.
Day 2
In the morning we’ll be up early to take pictures of the sunrise. And then we go directly skiing on the completely untouched slopes. During the day we will ski, we can get very interesting sports photos on skis, or some can go skitouring. Stuhleck also has a nice snowshoe tour. Thanks to the proximity of Vienna, there are quite a lot of people on the slopes on Saturday, so the alternative program is quite an interesting choice. In the evening, we’ll shoot sunset or night scenery again. And even later in the evening, we´ll enjoy warmth at the stove over good food and drink and sharing experiences.
Day 3
Early morning shooting of sunrise from Stuhleck. We pack backpacks and move out of the cottage. We then take the things straight to the car and we will ski all day, or we will talk with the cottage and leave them stored and take them to the cars at the end of the day. Late in the afternoon we will head back to Prague via Vienna, Brno and Jihlava.

Other important information

Although this trip is unpretentious and can be dealt with by everyone, we must not underestimate the weather on Stuhleck, which is exceptionally windy. It is therefore good to have a feather jacket with you. It is also good to have insurance (e.g. Alpenverein). You need to have enough cash and do not rely on credit cards. The manager of the workshop is not a certified mountain guide nor a guide, it is not organized mountain tourism but only a photo workshop in an alpine environment. The program of the workshop can be changed according to the conditions, weather and agreement of all participants.

Accommodation: 2x in the hut in the common room (28 EUR/night, for Alpenverein members 18 EUR/night). The hut is fully serviced, warm food and drink can be taken all day.
