An unforgettable experience in the heart of Lechtaler Alps in a mountain hut between lakes, in the company of the ibex. Moreover, this weekend is the last of the season (on Sunday the hut closes), so we can count on Saturday evening will be filled with fun and enjoyment!

Within three days in this area, if happiness treats, we meet a herd of ibex coming many times close to the cottage itself. We will try time-lapse, photograph the reflections from the lake surfaces, like on the palm of our hands we will have all Lechtal Mountains, the company will make us marmosets, and under good conditions we will experience the sunrises and sunsets of all the colors.

Preliminary program of the expedition

Day 1
Expected departure at 15:00 from Prague via Pilsen and Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Here we accommodate and according to the weather, we go to shoot pictures of the sunset (or even the night atmosphere) at Geroldsee – perhaps the most photographed lake with typical wooden chalets.
Day 2
We drive from GaPa to the village of Bach early in the morning and then head to Memminger Hütte (2242m, approx. 5-6 h, ↑1300m). The way to the valley is somewhat lengthy, but after agreement it can be shortened by a mountain taxi – I recommend (with shortening about 2-2.5 hours, ↑750 m). There will be a break for the waterfall shooting on the way up. Early afternoon, we will house in the cottage and from there we´ll go with light back only to the awesome surrounding lakes, or rest on the terrace. Evening shooting at the bottom lake or from the Seekogel observation peak (2412m, approx. 0,5h, ↑170m, ↓170m).
Day 3
For those who are interested, early in the morning taking pictures of sunrise from Seekogel peak, or, depending on weather conditions, at the bottom lake. We spend the day, according to conditions and team agreement, with the excursion around all the lakes to some of the nearby peaks, shooting of the marmots and the ibex and the creation of time-lapse. Evening shooting at the bottom lake, from the Seekogel observation peak, or a pleasant tasting of local spirit and sharing experiences and advices 🙂
Day 4
For those who are interested, early in the morning taking pictures of sunrise from the peak of Seekogel, or, depending on the weather conditions, at the bottom lake. Then we go on the way back to the valley to the cars, this time we go all the way (according to the weather). We will cross to Lindau on our return journey, where we will make a stop for a tour of the center and the harbor. The city on the shores of Lake Constance is really worth to see. Then crossing Munich and Pilsen to Prague.

 

1x in a hostel or apartment in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (approx. EUR 25) and 2x in a cottage in a common 4-bed room (26 EUR/night, for Alpenverein members 14 EUR/night). No credit card payment possible in the hut, so you need to have enough cash with you. Hot shower is at an additional cost of 4 EUR
In GaPa and Bach, you can buy food anywhere, in the hut half board (dinner + breakfast) for about € 28 is available as well as cold food and all drinks throughout the day. Otherwise, we will eat from our own stocks
Although this trip is unpretentious and can be handled by everyone, we must not underestimate the movement in the Alps, especially in the autumn. It is therefore good to arrange extra insurance for stay in the mountains (e.g. Alpenverein). There is a need to have enough cash and do not rely on credit cards. The workshop leader is not a certified mountain guide or international guide, it is not organized mountain tourism but only a photo workshop in alpine environment. We are not travel agency. The program of the workshop can be changed according to the conditions, weather and agreement of all participants.

sleeping bag (mandatory for sleeping in the hut), sturdy shoes, waterproof jacket, warm clothing layer, gloves, headlamp, eventually sunscreen, sunglasses, personal first aid kit
A casual program with the optional addition of more demanding activities, an unpretentious and unexposed terrain, suitable for everyone. The only physically demanding stretch for an untrained person can be the Memminger Hütte ascent, but it will be interrupted by a longer pause for waterfall shooting.

Caution: difficulty may increase in unfavorable weather!

The time information for each part of the trip is indicative and includes an approximate total walking time with minor breaks, but no breaks for taking pictures or other activities (lunch, snack).
